    Chapter Index

After getting the answer he wanted, Chi Yan smiled.

Niwai stayed in the bedroom for a while, stayed for dinner, and thanked Lian for going back.

When the day was agreed upon, Xie Lian took his luggage downstairs and saw Chi Yan chatting with someone via video, wearing headphones and discussing something.

Xie Lian waited quietly. It wasn’t until he was almost at the airport that Chi Yan took off his headphones.

She handed over the water she was holding, “Thank you for your hard work, Ayan.”

Chi Yan rubbed his eyebrows, took the water and drank it to relieve the dryness of his throat.

He suddenly remembered something. He took out a pile of documents and put it in Xie Lian’s hand: “Take a look.”

Xie Lian took it obediently. When he saw the contents of the contract, he pursed his lips and said, “Ayan, why are you giving me something again?”

“I don’t want you to go out to work.” Chi Yan said. If Xie Lian was a career-oriented woman, he would not stop her, but he could see that Xie Lian’s work ability is not that strong, or in other words, he is not suitable for work at all.

Xie Lian also knows that he has no ability at all, but he has received too much from Chi Yan, whether it is the current house or his father’s side, there is already too much.

“There are these shops. I will buy you some stocks after a while.” Chi Yan put down the things in his hands and said simply and directly.

Xie Lian became even more silent after hearing this. She understood that Chi Yan was doing it for her own good.

Chi Yan rolled up his sleeves slightly, exposing a section of his arm, and put his big palm on her head: “You are so stupid to think about so many good things, don’t you know?”

Her depressed expression was so obvious that one couldn’t help but want to comfort her.

Xie Lian seemed to be recalled by his name to her when he was young, and the uneasiness seemed to disappear in an instant.

Chi Yan booked first class, and the two-and-a-half-hour flight was not uncomfortable at all, and passed after a good sleep.

Staying at the booked hotel, Xie Lian has already laid down, but Chi Yan is still busy. Video conferences and electronic documents all require him to look at them one by one. This feeling is unfamiliar to Xie Lian, and it is also unfamiliar to Chi Yan.

He had never been at work without someone waiting nearby.

As for Xie Lian, her ex-husband rarely worked in front of her. It’s pretty much either not going home, or not bringing any work with you when you go home.

Looking at the man in front of him who was still busy in home clothes, Xie Lian stood up from the bed, his white and tender hands fell on Chi Yan’s shoulders, and squeezed lightly or heavily.

Chi Yan only felt that the skin all over his body suddenly became much looser. He turned his head and looked at the little face that was thankful for the pity and had no makeup on it.

“It’s okay. If you feel sleepy, go and rest. I’ll be fine in half an hour.”

“I’m waiting for you.” She saw that Chi Yan wanted to stop her, and said quickly, “I can’t sleep without you.”

Sure enough, Chi Yan’s words turned into a sneer, “Oh, you are so lonely, then just wait, I will take care of you later.”

Xie Lian’s face turned slightly red, and he felt that the word “clean up” had some other meaning.

There were still two minutes left before half an hour. Chi Yan finished typing the last byte and looked sideways. The woman closed her eyes and leaned on the sofa. She breathed out evenly from her nose, and her whole body shrank together because of the cool air.

He stood up and closed the computer, hugged Xie Lian, and walked towards the bed.

As soon as he was picked up, Xie Lian woke up and saw Chi Yan. He rubbed his eyes and said, “Have you finished it?”

Chi Yan hummed, put the person on the bed, leaned over him, and held him in his arms: “Go to sleep, I have to do some styling tomorrow morning.”

Xie Lian has attended weddings before and knows that this process is quite tiring. Even if they are not the protagonists, it still takes a lot of effort.

This may be the so-called high-society communication, which requires refinement from the hair down.

Smelling the familiar scent of the man’s body, Xie Lian nodded like a chicken pecking at rice and closed his eyes to sleep.
