    Chapter Index

After He Lu’s B&B was built two years ago, her mother sold her house in the city and took her to live in the B&B.

The B&B was built on the edge of He Lu’s own field. After moving here, the place was spacious, but it was also far away from the school. It took more than 20 minutes to ride a bicycle one way.

It’s the end of May, and as a typical southern city, J City’s sun at noon is already as poisonous as midsummer.

After school, He Lu rode her bicycle home as usual. By the time she turned from the road onto the ridge path, her forehead and arms were already hot from the sun, and her throat was a little smokey.

The trail has not yet been repaired. The road surface is not only narrow, but also full of potholes and loess gravel.

He Lu, who was carrying a big schoolbag, slowed down and was bumping forward when the sound of a car suddenly came from behind.

She glanced back subconsciously and saw a black off-road vehicle covered in yellow and gray approaching her very quickly, without slowing down at all.

He Lu quickly held the handlebar and turned to the left, sticking to the edge of the trail. Then the off-road vehicle sped past her, bringing up a cloud of yellow and gray…

He Lu quickly held her breath, stepped on the ground with one foot, and stepped on the foot pedal with the other. She looked at the yellow dust rising up after the car passed by, and raised her hand to fan.

Who is it?Driving so fast on this kind of road!

She was frowning and muttering in her mind when the car suddenly stopped in front of her B&B.

Realizing that the other party was probably here to stay, He Lu pedaled her bicycle and wanted to catch up to see what such an unethical person looked like.

After just a few kicks, she saw the driver’s door open and a man get out of the car.

The distance was a bit far, but she could still see that the man was tall and muscular, wearing a gray vest, a pair of military green trousers, sunglasses, and a big beard.

The man raised his head and looked at the sign hanging in front of her house. He took out a shirt from the driver’s seat and threw it over his shoulder. He closed the car door and went straight into the yard.

Thinking of the man’s sturdy figure, unshaven appearance, and his behavior of speeding past her, He Lu was a little worried about He’s mother who was alone at home, so she couldn’t help pedaling the bicycle faster.

When she pushed her bicycle quickly into the hospital out of breath, the man was standing at the door of the main hall talking to her mother.

The man’s sunglasses have been taken off and he is holding it in his hand. He is no longer just a vest, but also a military green short-sleeved shirt, but the messy beard still makes it difficult to see what he looks like.

He must have seen someone coming in. The man looked towards He Lu, and his eyes met He Lu’s.

The man had a pair of narrow eyes, looking sharp as he looked at the taste. He Lu didn’t know why, but her heartbeat suddenly skipped a beat.

Not daring to look at him, she quickly lowered her head, pushed the bicycle to the corner next to the door, and pushed down the legs.

“Little sister, come here quickly.” Mother He waved to her.

“Oh.” He Lu, whose heartbeat was inexplicably fast, responded and walked towards He’s mother.

As she got closer, He Lu found that the man was bigger and taller than she looked from a distance.

Although he had already put on his shirt, the buttons were unbuttoned, and the gray vest underneath was stretched tightly by his chest muscles, and the outline of the muscles could be clearly seen.

Very thick, very strong, very arrogant, full of oppression…
