    Chapter Index

Li Xin felt the dense itch on her neck and took a deep breath:

    “You must be joking.”

There was still a faint pain on her lips. If it weren’t for this, she would almost think that she was in a charming and fragrant dream.

Janus raised his head, his blue eyes deeply grasping her face:

    “Did I scare you? Cindy.”

    Nonsense!

Li Xin wanted to kick him over.

But for the sake of his divine appearance, being taken advantage of a little bit is still within her acceptable range, and she can’t go any further.

“You must be tired and it’s time to rest.”

    Li Xin avoided he’s sight.

    Janus chuckled.

He let go of Li Xin’s hands and lay sideways next to her, his eyelids drooping slightly, covering his melancholy and dark blue eyes.

Such he looks weak and pitiful:

“You can go back Cindy, I’m sorry if I scared you today.”

He seemed to have recovered from the confusion and madness just now, and became the gentle, kind and gracious host again.

Li Xin was afraid that he would go crazy again, so he quickly sat up from the bed and straightened his messy hair.

    “Yes, Master.”

She hurriedly agreed, packed up the tray, and ran out of the door with an energy that she had never seen before.

Janus looked at her back, lowered his head, and raised his lips.

    …………

Li Xin lay on the bed after washing.

Today’s events were indeed ups and downs, and her little heart that yearned for farming couldn’t bear it, so she might as well just sleep in vain.

She thought so and forced herself to close her eyes.

It’s a pity that the ideal is full, but the reality is cruel. Li Xin, who usually fell asleep in almost three seconds, was unexpectedly sober today.

Listening to the patter of rain outside the window, she tossed and turned, almost messing up the sheets.

    Totally unable to sleep.

The twelve o’clock bell struck three dull times, and the surroundings were silent except for the faint echo of the bell.

The candle on Li Xin’s table suddenly went out.

She was still struggling with sleepiness, and suddenly fell into a darkness where she couldn’t see her fingers, and subconsciously sat up.

    Didn’t you close the window?

She muttered, walked to the table in the dark, found the match from the table skillfully, and lit it with a “click”.

The burning candlelight gave off a faint warm yellow color.

Li Xin held the candlestick and came to the hanging curtains to see if the window was not sealed, causing the night wind to blow out the candlestick.

There were no stars or moon outside the window, and her face, reflected in the reflection of the window, was pale and dull.

She twisted the handle of the window, pushed it open and tried to close it.

While doing this, she glanced down inadvertently——

    “Fuck!”

She stepped back suddenly, and the candlestick fell from her hand and fell to the ground with a heavy thud.

Tears from the burned candle spread across the carpet.

Li Xinhai’s face turned pale and he couldn’t help but step back.

    What did she see?

She saw a ferocious human face.

To be precise, it was a dead body among the rose bushes. The roses took root in her body and rushed out of her eyes, mouth, nose, and ears.

She will never forget that face.

    That was Mrs. Mandy’s face.

Li Xin sensed a strong sense of danger, and she almost stood up holding on to the edge of the bed. She didn’t even bother to pack her things, and stumbled out the door.

There was a voice in her heart telling her.

    Run, you must run.

She fumbled and grabbed the door handle, suppressed her trembling palms, turned and pulled suddenly…

    “Boom!”

    Thunder outside the window.

Li Xin bumped into a hard body that belonged to a man.
