    Chapter Index

After the two of them left the surgery, Gu Shaoming stopped by to help Qin Qing get some cold tablets. Then they left the hospital and went straight back home.

Gu Shaoming carried him to the bed in the bedroom and put him down, and said softly: “Just stay at home and take good care of him. Don’t run around these days. If you need anything, just call the servant. Do you understand?”

“Yes, yes, I understand.” Qin Qing nodded with a smile, and suddenly thought of something and pulled Gu Shaoming, who was about to leave, and said eagerly, “I forgot my skirt at the company.”

She quite likes that dress, but if she doesn’t wash it for a long time, it will be really ruined.

Gu Shaoming glanced at her, suddenly touched her head and said, “I will ask the assistant to bring it back to you later.”

Qin Qing only felt a little numbness on his scalp. He could only stare blankly into his deep eyes, and unconsciously loosened his fingers on his sleeves.

Gu Shao Mingqu flicked her forehead with his fingers, raised his eyebrows and cursed “trouble” before leaving.

As the door was closed, silence returned to the bedroom.

Qin Qing slowly touched his painful forehead, curled his lips and muttered in a low voice: “Why do you like to flick your forehead so much? It hurts…”

Just as he spoke, a smile appeared on his face unconsciously, and a soft smile slowly spread in his eyes.

Because Gu Shaoming specifically gave instructions to the housekeeper before leaving, Qin Qing basically put on her clothes, stretched out her hands for food, and opened her mouth. When the servants learned that Qin Qing’s legs and feet were inconvenient and she had a cold, they served her attentively, for fear that she might not be feeling well.

So Qin Qing took the medicine and lay in the bedroom and fell asleep all afternoon. She didn’t wake up until the servant came to wake her up in the evening, sweating profusely.

Qin Qing’s cheeks were red, and she felt that her whole body seemed to be radiating heat, and the heat was unbearable.

Her hands and feet were weak and she lifted the quilt covering her body. When she moved, her injured foot was involved, and she suddenly screamed in pain.

However, even lifting the quilt did not slow down the stuffy heat around him. Qin Qing only felt that his mind was confused by the heat, his throat was dry and itchy and he could not make a sound, and he fell asleep again without knowing it.

In the hazy moment, it seemed as if someone’s cold hands were on her forehead and face, and then the stuffy quilt was covered again, but her hands and feet were too weak to lift it, so she could only endure the scorching torment.

It’s so hot… The one who killed a thousand swords covered her with the quilt again. Didn’t you see that she was almost exhausted from the heat…

    So uncomfortable…

After Gu Shaoming came back, he learned from the housekeeper that Qin Qing had a high fever. He paused and quickly walked to the bedroom upstairs without even having time to take off his coat. He asked the housekeeper who was following him, “Have you called the doctor?”

“Dr. Xu has been called. He is in Miss Qin’s room now.”

Dr. Xu is the family doctor of the Gu family and has excellent medical skills. Whenever Gu Shaoming feels unwell, he always calls him for diagnosis and treatment.

While they were talking, the two of them had already arrived at Qin Qing’s room.

Gu Shaoming’s first glance was at Qin Qing who was lying on the bed. He saw that her face was very red, a few strands of hair on her forehead were stuck to her face due to sweat, and her brows were tightly furrowed, as if she was very uncomfortable.

He stepped forward and touched Qin Qing’s forehead. The hotness of the tentacles made him frown unconsciously. He looked at Dr. Xu who was giving her an infusion and asked in a deep voice, “How is she?”

“The fever is severe, but fortunately Miss Qin is in good health. She should be much better after the infusion. If she takes medicine at night and has a good sleep, the fever will be gone tomorrow.” Dr. Xu was a little surprised by the concern and anxiety shown in Gu Shaoming’s words and deeds, but wisely restrained his emotions and answered respectfully.

When Gu Shaoming heard that it was okay, he nodded in agreement, and then said to the housekeeper with some displeasure: “How do those servants take care of people? In the morning, they only had a cold, but in the afternoon they had a fever.”
