    95: Galaxy

Qin Ruicheng stood up suddenly and pulled Qiao Qiao to leave.

“You don’t have to be impatient with me.” Mother Qin slowly picked up a cup of tea on the table, “Your father and I are the only children like you. Since you were a child, you have had everything you want, and everything you get is the best. You think it’s boring at home, so I personally flew to the United States to study for two months, and the last ranked prestigious school is up to you. You don’t want to do it.We never force you to do business, we just let you have fun and make you happy. But Ruicheng, no one in this world can be happy for a lifetime. Your dad and I will grow old, and there will be times when you are unable to control things.Rather than being forced into despair by outsiders in the end, it is better for you to be cruel and be a bad person for once.”

Qin Ruicheng kicked over the chair next to him and almost squeezed out these words from between his teeth: “But this is my whole life-”

“Qin Qin.” Qiao Qiao tugged on Qin Ruicheng’s sleeve and said softly, “Stop talking.”

Under Qin Ruicheng’s doubtful eyes, she turned to Qin’s mother, bowed politely, and said calmly: “Auntie, you may have misunderstood. I have never thought of marrying your son.”

There was a deathly silence in the room, and even the doll stopped sobbing.

“Qiao Qiao.” Qin Ruicheng grabbed Qiao Qiao’s shoulders, his face was frighteningly gloomy, and he forced Qiao Qiao to look directly at him, “Can you say it again?”

“Ruicheng.” Mother Qin raised her hand and pressed down, “Sit down.”

Qin Ruicheng froze, and after a while he let go of his hand, and slowly sat back on the chair, but his hands were still clenched tightly. It was obvious that his actual mood was not as calm as he showed.

“Go ahead.” Mother Qin relaxed her tone and looked at Qiao Qiao lovingly, “Tell me everything you want.”

“I don’t have any ideas.” Qiao Qiao shook her head. She even smiled and said in a relaxed manner, “I knew from the beginning that Qin Qin and I are not from the same world. I am just a child who grew up in an ordinary family. Maybe my family’s annual income is not evenIt’s expensive for you to hold this dinner.I have no financial acumen, let alone business. If anything happens to Qin Qin in the future, I won’t be able to help at all, so I can’t marry him. We… just have a good relationship, and I know myself.”

“Do you really think so?” Qin Ruicheng suddenly spoke. He stared at Qiao Qiao coldly, with veins on the back of his hands protruding. “Then what do I mean to you? Am I a comrade?”

The cold and stern attitude shown by the man was something Qiao Qiao had never seen before. She was a little confused and felt even more unfamiliar with Qin Ruicheng like this. She could only say in a low voice: “I didn’t think about it that way…”

“I understand.” Qin Ruicheng nodded, “They are just friends who are good enough to sleep with each other, right?”

    “No…”

“What is that?” the man asked, “Who do I think I am in your eyes?”

“Ruicheng.” Mother Qin sighed, “This girl is a sensible person, and she is also doing it for your own good.”

“I don’t want this so-called ‘for my own good’.” Qin Ruicheng closed his eyes, “Mom, I will learn business from you. I will learn tonight and I will go to the company tomorrow.”

“Okay.” Qin’s mother nodded. She quickly took out a bunch of keys from her bag and handed them to Qin Ruicheng, “This is a small trading company under my name. If you can run this well, you can talk about everything else. However, I will only give you one year, and during this year, you are not allowed to exclude any blind dates I arrange for you.”

    “Qin Qin…”

“I promise.” Qin Ruicheng took the key, “One year. Qiao Qiao, come on, I’ll take you out.”

He grabbed Qiao Qiao and walked out. The man’s steps were long and fast. Qiao Qiao didn’t even have time to say goodbye to Qin’s mother before he was dragged outside the hotel. The dinner party was coming to an end, and the cool night breeze blew against his face, making Qiao Qiao shiver.

Qin Ruicheng roughly stuffed Qiao Qiao into the car, sat in the driver’s seat without saying a word, started the vehicle quickly, kicked the accelerator, and blasted out. The inertia threw Qiao Qiao so much that he almost hit the front windshield.

“Qin Qin, you are driving too fast -”

“I don’t care if it’s fast or not!” Qin Ruicheng smashed the steering wheel angrily. He took a few deep breaths, as if he was trying his best to suppress his urge to get angry. The two of them arrived at the door of WAWA headquarters in silence. Qin Ruicheng stepped on the brakes hard, and the tires made a screeching sound as they scratched the ground.

“Let’s go.” The man rested his forehead on the steering wheel. The angular face that Qiao Qiao had always liked was full of exhaustion, as if all his energy had been exhausted just by sending her here.

Qiao Qiao held up the hem of her skirt and slowly got out of the car.

She stood at the door of the WAWA headquarters for a long time until she watched Qin Ruicheng’s car drive back into the night. She could no longer see any trace of light emitted by the taillights, then turned back and walked inside. The WAWA hall was also very lively at night. There were many artists sitting in the tea and entertainment area chatting together. She didn’t know which table was playing cards. Noisy people came from all directions, but it had nothing to do with her.

Qiao Qiao thought slowly that Qin Qin would probably never pay attention to her again, right?

At four o’clock in the morning, Qiao Qiao struggled to wake up from his sleep.

She sat on the bed for a long time and finally felt that her hands and feet had regained some strength, so she slowly climbed out of bed, not knowing what to do, so she simply put on some clothes, opened the door and walked out of the dormitory.

The 15th floor was unusually quiet at this time, but there were still one or two people talking on the phone in the corridor. One of them was holding a large pack of tissues and was crying while talking on the phone, as if he was going through a breakup.

Qiao Qiao walked around in boredom and saw that the elevator lights were still on. Thinking that Fang Tong had said that there was a rooftop with a good view on the top floor of WAWA, suitable for stargazing, he walked into the elevator by accident, clicked on the number at the top, and went all the way up.

The rooftop on the top floor is indeed very wide, and it can be seen that many people usually like to come there, because there is even a vending machine in the corner.Qiao Qiao searched all over his body and found three coins, put them in and bought a bottle of cold beer.

She raised her head and took a big sip, choking and coughing for a long time.

The night wind was a little damp, and Qiao Qiao had just stood for a while before her coat was covered with moisture. She shivered slightly, and just as she was about to go downstairs to her dormitory, she unexpectedly saw a figure standing on the other side of the rooftop.

The figure stood very close to the edge. Qiao Qiao even suspected that the person had crossed the guardrail. But just as Qiao Qiao was trying to identify it, the figure slowly took another step closer to the edge.

You’re not going to jump off the building, are you?

Qiao Qiao was startled by her guess, but she couldn’t care anymore. She threw away the cold beer and rushed towards the figure: “Hey! What are you doing! It’s dangerous!”

As he got closer, Qiao Qiao felt more and more familiar with the figure from behind. Sure enough, the man turned around when he heard the shout, and it turned out to be Cheng Xiu.

“Qiao Qiao?” Cheng Xiu also looked surprised, “Why are you here?”

“Mr. Cheng?” Qiao Qiao breathed a sigh of relief, “It turns out to be you. When I saw your back from a distance and you were standing so far away, I thought…”

She didn’t continue and changed the topic: “Mr. Cheng, aren’t you taking a rest at this late hour?”

“I’m not sleepy.” Cheng Xiu shook his head, “You didn’t rest either.”

“Oh, I can’t sleep anymore.” Qiao Qiao smiled bitterly, “I have had insomnia only a handful of times since I was a child, and today counts as one.”

She saw that Cheng Xiu was still standing outside the guardrail without changing his expression, looking up at the night sky, so she tugged at the corner of the man’s clothes: “You… better stand inside, it’s too dangerous there.”

“It doesn’t matter.” Cheng Xiu said calmly, “I’m used to it.”

The man’s tone was too understated, but Qiao Qiao suddenly remembered the large and small scars on the man’s body.

“Jian, is Mr. Jian feeling better?” Qiao Qiao searched for a long time and finally found a topic, “The wound is not infected, right? I didn’t wrap it well.”

“Much better.” Cheng Xiu glanced at Qiao Qiao, with no unnecessary emotion on his face, “Thank you.”

“It’s nothing…it was all taught by Mr. Jian. I did whatever he said. In the end, I actually gained some strength.” Qiao Qiao said sheepishly.

There was silence between the two of them again, and the night wind blew so hard that Cheng Xiu’s long black windbreaker bulged, like a pair of wings spread behind him.

“Mr. Cheng, did you encounter any difficulty?” Qiao Qiao asked carefully.

    The man hummed briefly.

“What a coincidence. I also encountered something I couldn’t handle.” Qiao Qiao smiled mockingly, “Why don’t we exchange things? It will make me feel much better if I tell you.”

The man didn’t say anything, still staring silently at the starry night sky, the lines on his profile were cold and sharp.Qiao Qiao didn’t think Cheng Xiu was particularly good-looking in the past. Although he fit Qiao Qiao’s sexual fantasies, here and now, in this context, Qiao Qiao finally realized that there really is a kind of people in the world. They have never been suitable to live in the sun, and should always stay away from all the bustling world, because they were born to belong to the night and to be lonely.

“Actually, it’s not a big deal…” Qiao Qiao continued talking to himself, “I just suddenly felt that I was really a useless ordinary person. I couldn’t change anything, and I was a little powerless.”

“What about you?” Qiao Qiao leaned on the railing and looked at Cheng Xiu, “I’m done, it’s your turn.”

She just asked casually and didn’t expect Cheng Xiu to really answer. After all, the two of them were not in the same world at all. It didn’t mean much whether they said it or not.

Qiao Qiao followed Cheng Xiu’s example and looked up at the sky. The stars were twinkling in the sky and the night was falling. Qiao Qiao felt sleepy after just looking at it for a while.

She pressed her face against the iron railing to try to wake herself up, but suddenly she heard a man’s low voice coming over. It was obviously a very magnetic voice, but it was so light that it seemed as if it was blown away by the wind.

Qiao Qiao heard Cheng Xiu say: “I want to leave the young master.”
