    361. Yan Xi’s heart knot

Yan Xi gradually calmed down, but she was still frowning tightly and murmuring something in a low voice. Douglas held her hand and whispered in her ear until she fell into a deep sleep with a peaceful face.

Seeing that Yan Xi had really calmed down, Douglas gently took out his hand, walked to the balcony and sent a message to Shen Qinglan. Shen Qinglan was already asleep. The person who saw the message was Fu Hengyi. Fu Hengyi took a look at the content of the message, thought about it, and still did not wake up Shen Qinglan. He just sent a link to a web page to Douglas.

After reading the content that was sent, Douglass naturally understood why Yan Xi was like this. When he returned to the bedroom, he saw that Yan Xi was sleeping peacefully, so he planned to leave. But as soon as he walked to the door, he heard Yan Xi crying quietly. When he walked to the bed again, he realized that Yan Xi seemed to have a nightmare. She was crying lowly, like a helpless kitten. Douglass’ heart twitched suddenly when he saw it. He sighed, sat down on the edge of the bed, and held Yan Xi’s hand again.

“Yan Xi, I’m here, don’t be afraid, you are a brave child, don’t look back, I’m waiting for you in front…” He’s voice is gentle and magnetic, like a sea, wrapping Yan Xi in its warm embrace with gentle waves.

The next morning, when Yan Xi woke up, she saw Douglas sitting on the ground with his head on the edge of the bed, and his hand was held tightly by he. Yan Xi wanted to call someone, but her throat felt like it had been cut by a knife and the pain was severe. She pulled her hand back, and Douglas woke up.

“Yan Xi, how are you feeling?” Douglas asked gently.

“Water.” Yan Xi said, but the voice was very soft, but Douglas understood it. He stood up and poured a glass of water for Yan Xi, helped her up, and fed her until she drank half a glass of water before stopping.

Yan Xi drank water and felt that her throat felt better. She looked at Douglass and said, “Thank you, why are you at my home?”

Dougs put the cup back, “I called you yesterday, but you forgot?”

Yan Xi frowned and thought about it carefully. She seemed to have the impression that something like this happened. She looked a little embarrassed and said, “I’m sorry.”

Douglas smiled and said, “We are friends. You are alone in a foreign country and everyone takes care of you. It’s only right for me to come over and take care of you.”

Yan Xi’s face was still a little pale. Douglass looked at her and asked unconsciously, “You talked in your sleep all night last night. What did you dream about?”

Yan Xi was slightly stunned, “Did I talk in my sleep last night?”

Douglas nodded, “You said a lot, but your voice was too soft, so I couldn’t hear you clearly.”

“I don’t remember.” Yan Xi looked confused and shook her head slightly.

Douglas looked into her eyes. Her eyes were clear, and she didn’t seem to be lying. He was slightly relieved, as long as Yan Xi showed no signs of recovering his memory. If a patient like Yan Xi recovers his memory, the possibility of getting better after getting sick is very slim. Maybe she will be immersed in that pain for the rest of her life and cannot extricate herself.

“Since you forgot, don’t think about it. Seeing how sad you are, it must be a nightmare. It’s just a good thing that you forgot. You just woke up. I asked the Filipino maid to cook you some porridge.” Douglass said.

Yan Xi didn’t worry about the dream. She hadn’t eaten anything all day, and she was indeed hungry. Dougs went downstairs and came up with a glass of milk in his hand, “Drink the milk first to cushion your stomach.”

Yan Xi took the milk, drank half the glass and put it down. She was still very weak and dizzy.

Seeing that she was not in a high mood, Douglass did not deliberately find a topic to talk to her. Instead, he took a book that Yan Xi had placed on the bedside and read through it.

Yan Xi lay on the bed, quietly looking at Douglas’s side face, and fell asleep unknowingly. Her breathing was very steady, her expression was peaceful, and she thought she slept very well.

Douglas waited for half an hour, and when he saw that Yan Xi had really fallen asleep, he left. He still had some things to know.

He called Shen Qinglan. Shen Qinglan was shocked when she heard what Douglas said. “Dougus, will Yan Xi regain her memory?”

Dougs looked serious, “At present, there are no such signs, but I can’t guarantee that there won’t be in the future. I already know what happened in her family. Her parents’ affairs have hit her hard and made her very painful. This has stimulated her already sensitive nerves.”

“You mean, if Yan Xi continues to be stimulated, she will probably remember everything?” Shen Qinglan asked in a deep voice, her voice clear and clear, but with an undisguised coldness.

    “Yes.”

“Okay, I understand. Yan Xi still needs you to take more care of her. I will find a solution for the matter here.” Shen Qinglan said, hung up the phone, and called Yan Shengyu.

“Shen Qinglan?” Yan Shengyu’s voice was tired. He had not slept all night. He originally planned to go to Sydney to accompany Yan Xi yesterday, but something happened here and he was delayed.

“Where’s your mother?” Shen Qinglan got straight to the point. She wanted to call Zhao Jiaqing directly, but she didn’t have Zhao Jiaqing’s contact information.

Yan Shengyu was stunned, “Are you looking for my mother?”

“Yes, are you with her? If not, please give me her contact information.”

Yan Shengyu was indeed not with Zhao Jiaqing now. After giving a series of numbers, Shen Qinglan hung up the phone directly.

Zhao Jiaqing was surprised when she received Shen Qinglan’s call, but after hearing Shen Qinglan’s words, her expression suddenly changed, “I know, thank you for telling me, Miss Shen, I’m sorry for what happened before.”

Shen Qinglan was stunned, not knowing what she was talking about. Zhao Jiaqing didn’t explain to her and hung up the phone directly.

    **

Yan Xi’s high fever started to relapse that afternoon. Douglass was just about to send her to the hospital, but Yan Xi pulled his clothes and looked at him pitifully, “I don’t want to go to the hospital.”

Dougs’ heart softened the moment he saw her eyes, and he softened his tone, “Okay, we don’t go to the hospital. We invite the doctor to come to our home to see the doctor, okay?”

    Yan Xi nodded, “Okay.”

Douglass called a doctor friend of his. The doctor came quickly and prescribed Yan Xi the same antipyretic drugs. Yan Xi didn’t see any improvement after taking them. There was something that Douglass didn’t understand. The root of Yan Xi’s illness was still psychological.

When Yan Xi woke up a little, Dougs looked at Yan Xi steadily and said, “Yan Xi, are you worried? If there is anything unhappy in your heart, you can tell me.”

Yan Xi shook her head. She didn’t want to talk about her parents.

Douglass took the initiative to reach out and hold her hand, “Yan Xi, you don’t have to be so strong. Don’t hold back some emotions. If you torture yourself because of your parents, you are a stupid girl.”

Yan Xi looked at he, “You know?”

Dougs nodded, “Do you want to tell me what you think?”

Yan Xi was silent for a while, and then spoke slowly. Douglas listened to her quietly without interrupting.Yan Xi didn’t speak until she finished saying “he”.

“Yan Xi, you are not a drag on your parents. They chose not to divorce or to divorce. Maybe you were a factor, but not the main reason. You don’t have to blame yourself so much.”

Yan Xi looked sad, “Dougs, why do two people who don’t love each other force themselves to be together and pretend to be in love in front of others? I never thought that my happiness was an illusion. I lived in a world of lies. The good father I thought was betrayedThere are women outside, but my mother has endured this kind of life for so many years.I can’t imagine how my mother can endure this kind of life.If my health were better, then my parents wouldn’t torture each other for me.”

“Yan Xi, look into my eyes.” Douglass said. Yan Xi raised her head and looked at him, “Did your mother tell you that they didn’t divorce because of you?”

Yan Xi shook her head, “No, I guessed it.” She had a vague feeling in her heart that her parents were in such trouble because of her.

“Yan Xi, you are too sensitive. Your parents would do this not just for you. The breakdown of their relationship now is more due to their own reasons. Your speculation not only makes you uncomfortable, but your parents will definitely feel uncomfortable too if they know about it.”

Yan Xi’s tears fell without warning, and she covered her chest with her hands, “But Douglas, my heart hurts so much. There is always a voice in my mind telling me that all of this was caused by me. It was also because of me that my parents became like this. I shouldn’t be living in this world at all.”

She was very excited. Douglas hugged her and patted her back gently, “Yan Xi, this is not your fault, your idea is wrong…”

He’s voice penetrated Yan Xi’s ears, but could not enter her heart. She cried, and a picture flashed in her mind. Her father beat her mother in front of her. This picture was strange and real.

Douglas stopped talking and patted Yan Xi’s back gently, waiting for her to vent her emotions, but he was constantly analyzing the reasons and coping strategies for Yan Xi’s psychological reaction.

He finally pulled Yan Xi out of the abyss, not wanting to see that desperate and frightened girl again.

Yan Xi cried for a long time, from wailing to sobbing softly, and finally became quiet. She leaned quietly in Douglas’s arms, holding on to the clothes on his chest, looking dependent.

Seeing that she was quiet, Douglass said softly, “Yan Xi, how about you come with me to relax after you get better?”

Yan Xi said hoarsely, “Where are you going?”

    “Europe, travel around Europe.”

Yan Xi didn’t say she should go or not. She cried a lot. She was very tired now. Her illness had been recurring, and her thoughts were so heavy. As soon as her emotions were vented, she relaxed and fell asleep unconsciously.

Douglas put Yan Xi on the bed, her hand still holding on to his clothes. Douglas smiled helplessly, looking at Yan Xi with a look of pity and tenderness that he didn’t even notice.
