    Special Chapter·Yinyuan【Forty-Seven】

Li Xin didn’t know how she could survive this day.

Her nerves were like stretched strings, she was on tenterhooks all the time, and there was not even a second where she could relax.

She didn’t dare to listen to the noise outside the door, and she didn’t want to pay attention to what Hao Anan and others were doing. To be honest, she was not sure whether they were humans or ghosts.

She filled herself up with the food she brought with her, and there was half a box of mineral water here, which was barely enough to sustain her needs.

——The premise is that Teng Ran can come back early.

Otherwise, she would really have no choice but to go out and give it a try.

Tonight is the deadline Li Xin set for herself and Teng Ran. If he hasn’t come back and can’t contact her after tonight, then she will choose to solve it on her own.

    Regardless of the outcome.

Night came slowly amidst Li Xin’s anxiety. There had been no movement in the yard all day. This was not in line with the state of the previous few days.

Maybe, as Teng Ran said, something will happen tonight.

Li Xin was extremely tired, and her upper and lower eyelids were fighting. She had been tense all day and refused to allow herself to fall asleep. By now, she was exhausted.

She began to vaguely regret why she didn’t squint for a while.

The sky is getting darker and the surrounding temperature is starting to become cooler.

Li Xin huddled in the quilt and wrapped her whole body, revealing only a pair of bloodshot eyes, which were black and blue.

She took it out from time to time and looked at it. Every minute and every second was torture for her. Tengran still didn’t reply to her message, and the signal was always intermittent.

Li Xin put her hand to cover her lips and yawned widely.

The wind outside the window rustled, and the leaves rubbed, making a thin, gentle sound. For Li Xin now, it was the best lullaby.

She sat in confusion, her head banging, as if she was about to fall asleep in the next second.

In fact, she was so sleepy that she couldn’t tell whether she was in a dream or awake.

There is no moon tonight and the sky is filled with clouds and mist.

    ————

    “Li Xin, Li Xin?”

A familiar voice rang in her ears, and the man nudged her, waking her up from her sleep.

Li Xin opened her eyes in a daze, and the figure shaking in front of her eyes was illusive:

    “Um…Tengran?”

    She smelled a familiar smell.

Teng Ran stroked her hair, and his voice was as gentle as ever:

    “It’s me, I’m back.”

    Li Xin woke up instantly.

She opened her eyes wide and closed them hard, as if she couldn’t believe that he really existed:

    “Just wait a moment,”

She still didn’t let down her guard. Last night’s “Teng Ran” left an extremely deep impression on her.

“Do you still remember what you told me?”

She silently clutched the jade plaque in her hand. Although the reunion was a surprise, it would not go to her head.

Seeing her being so defensive, Teng Ran didn’t mind, but explained patiently:

“I asked you not to open the door today, but I came in by myself. So, do you still doubt it?”

After listening to this, Li Xin felt that what he said was somewhat reasonable, so she asked:

“Where have you been these past few days?”

He looked a little dusty, his hair was messy, and his demeanor was not exactly energetic.

Teng Ran led her to stand up, her palms slightly cold:

“I went to get some things related to this old house. Now that I have got the things, it’s time for me to take you away.”

He took off his coat and wrapped it around her:

    “Let’s go, don’t get discovered.”

    Li Xin was stunned:

    “Are you leaving now? But…”

    It’s still late at night.

A somewhat solemn look appeared in Teng Ran’s eyes:

“The sooner we leave, the better. We can’t stay here any longer.”
