    Special Chapter·Yinyuan【Eighteen】

The house was dense, and the pressure coming from all sides was like countless invisible hands, trying to pull her into the bottomless abyss and bite her flesh.

The east wing where Teng Ran was located was still lit with a faint, warm yellow light.

He wasn’t asleep yet, or maybe he just had the light on.

Li Xin rubbed her bare arms. She couldn’t hold on any longer. She gritted her teeth and walked up the stairs and knocked on Teng Ran’s door.

    Tuk-tuk-tuk.

After three calls, no one answered.

She glanced back at the dark west wing. She really didn’t want to go in again, so she had to be patient and knock on the door twice more.

If, if she didn’t open the door again this time, there was nothing she could do.

    Li Xin read silently.

Fortunately, Tengran seemed to hear her thoughts. Not long after knocking on the door, he opened the door.

He was wearing light gray pajamas with a V-shaped neckline, revealing his straight collarbones. His eyes were filled with confusion when he first woke up.

This demeanor weakened his usual indifference and made him look much gentler.

He was confused about Li Xin’s appearance, but after he looked her up and down, he understood more or less.

    “I…”

Just when Li Xin wanted to explain his behavior, Teng then took a step back and gave up his position:

    “Come in.”

Li Xin was stunned and doubted her ears.

So simple?Could he really be able to read minds?

    “Don’t want to come in?”

Seeing her hesitating and not moving, Teng Ran couldn’t help but raise his eyebrows.

    “Okay then, bye.”

Saying that, he closed the door.

Li Xin quickly blocked it with her hands and squeezed in through the gap in the door:

“I’m in, don’t drive me away!”

A moderate show of weakness was necessary, and besides, she was really flustered.

If the system generously gave her the ability to catch ghosts, not only would she not be afraid, but she would also be extremely excited. But now she is just an ordinary person and doesn’t even know where those things are.

It would be strange not to be afraid.

The layout of Tengran’s room is exactly the same as that of the west wing. He did not turn off the lamp and the bed was a little messy. It was obvious that he was woken up from his sleep by Li Xin.

She couldn’t help but feel guilty:

“I’m sorry for waking you up so late.”

She found a stool and sat down. She didn’t need to be very close to him. As long as she was next to him, the chill on her body that was like a maggot attached to her bones disappeared.

    Very reassuring.

    “Drink water?”

Tengran didn’t mean to blame her, but gave her a bottle of water.

Li Xin hurriedly took it, unscrewed the bottle cap and took two sips.

While she was drinking water, Teng Ran’s eyes shifted from her face to her legs. She was very embarrassed and huddled her body uneasily. The gauze at her knees had been stained red by the blood that leaked out.

Before she noticed it, there was a faint, dark-green finger mark on her ankle.

    Teng Ran’s pupils narrowed.

He thought for a moment, then suddenly stood up and took out a white medicine box from the cabinet beside the bed.

Kong Jiawen said that every room has a medical kit. There is no hospital nearby, so the medicines are fully stocked.

Li Xin didn’t realize what he wanted to do at first. When he approached with the medicine box, she realized:

    “I’ll do it myself.”

She wanted to reach for the medicine box.

However, Tengran ignored her and placed the medicine box on the ground. Then he leaned over and picked her up from the stool.

Li Xin was startled by the instant volley, and her body reflexively grabbed his neck.

Teng Ran’s expression remained unchanged as he placed her firmly on the bed, then squatted down and easily grabbed her ankles with one hand.

He removed the gauze on her knees, revealing the two bloody wounds.

Li Xin frowned due to the tearing pain.

Teng Ran saw clearly the sides of her knees, which also had dark-green finger marks, which were exactly the same as those on her ankles.
