    Chapter Index

A woman disguises herself as a prince and a man disguises himself as a concubine [Seventy-seven]

Half a month after the assassination incident, the wound on Li Xin’s arm had scabbed over.

However, although the arrow’s feathers were deflected when they left the string, it was Ning Shuyao’s force that caused it. It is not easy to recover.

At least these days, the wound is still aching.

After thinking about it, this was probably punishment. No matter what, she broke Ning Shuyao’s heart in various ways.

    “Is the injury okay?”

Concubine Ying entered the palace and saw her sitting at the table in a daze, not knowing what she was thinking, so she broke the silence.

    Li Xin stroked her arm:

    “It’s just a flesh wound.”

Concubine Ying glanced at her, raised her lips, and sneered:

“I don’t know that that boy from the Ning family still has some affection for you and is willing to spare your life.”

Hearing this, Li Xin unconsciously raised his eyes and looked at her:

“Isn’t my mother and concubine happy that he is like this?”

There was inevitably a bit of sarcasm in her words, but it did not anger Concubine Ying. Li Xin’s appearance of being angry but not taking action was what she wanted to see.

What she wants is just a knife to stain her blood, not a child.

“You are somewhat like me, but you are still young and too indecisive.”

Concubine Ying looked down at her. After her face was broken, she no longer acted like a so-called “loving mother”, but showed her true colors:

    “Come here with me.”

Li Xin didn’t resist and stood up silently.

    She thought it was time.

Concubine Ying took her into the secret room, which was as stuffy as ever, like a dark cage that locked up all the secrets and no one could know the truth.

Li Xin came to the lonely bed and met the rumored prince.

    Like, indeed.

Although there are differences between men and women, they are very similar to her, except that one has clear and sharp outlines, and the other carries the softness and gentleness of a woman.

Li Xin was silent for a long time, and when she spoke again, her voice was slightly hoarse:

    “Mother, this is…”

    “Your twin brother.”

Concubine Ying sat down by the bed, stretched out her hand and gently held the third prince’s palm:

“He is still in coma, but he will wake up in a few days.”

Li Xin didn’t know how to reply, so she asked:

“If he wakes up, what do you plan to do with me?”

The expression on Concubine Ying’s face paused slightly.

Li Xin stared at her tightly.

She sighed, let go of him, and glanced at him again with nostalgia:

    “He won’t wake up.”

Li Xin was stunned and didn’t know why.

Isn’t this inconsistent?Obviously her last sentence was that he was about to wake up.

Before she could understand, Concubine Ying had already turned around, her face shrouded in darkness had no clear expression, only a pair of eyes showed some light.

In such a scene, it seems particularly strange.

While she was thinking, Concubine Ying’s pair of soft skin came up and gently grasped her:

“I will only have one child, and I can only have one child.”

She slowly led Li Xin to the bed and asked her to look at her brother who had the same mother as her:

“If you want to live, you have to get rid of one of them, you know?”

Li Xin was shocked and subconsciously took her hand out of Concubine Ying’s hand:

    “Mother concubine!”

Concubine Ying seemed to have expected her reaction. She was not surprised, but said slowly:

“You and he have never met since you were born. Because of him, you remain anonymous and never see the light of day. Now you have to disguise yourself as a man to clean up his mess. Is it possible that you don’t hate him?”

She was aggressive, and every word she spoke struck a sore spot in Li Xin’s body.

And Li Xin stepped back step by step, cold sweat running down his back.

    She understands, she understands everything.
