    Chapter Index

Coming out of Janus’ room, Li Xin listened to Mrs. Mandy telling her all the work she needed to do.

It was also from this that she learned that the owner of the manor was named Janus Ross, and he was the third generation to inherit the manor.

All Li Xin has to do is to deliver three meals to Janus every day, prepare his afternoon tea and obey his orders. As for his rough work, she does not need to intervene.

Janus doesn’t like to go out very much. He almost always stays in his room reading books and occasionally looking at the scenery through the window.

If he needs to go out, he has to ask the valet to come over, put him in the wheelchair, and go around the castle.

I forgot to mention that this manor covers the entire forest, and the castle is just in the center for living.

After Mrs. Mandy finished speaking, she did not forget to comfort her with a smile:

“As you can see, our master is a very kind and handsome gentleman, so you don’t have to worry about the rumored stories happening.”

Li Xin nodded as if relieved.

    ————

On the third day, Li Xin officially started working.

The cook would put breakfast on the dining table on the right side of the stairs on time. Janus didn’t eat much, but there was a rich variety, and the dinner plate was a bit too big for Li Xin.

Fortunately, her years of exercise helped her.

The top floor was longer than she imagined. When Li Xin arrived at her destination, she couldn’t help but take a few breaths and move her sore arms.

She glanced at the clock on the wall. It happened to be eight o’clock in the morning.

So she put the plate aside and knocked on the door the way Mrs. Mandy had done yesterday.

    “Come in.”

Janus’s faint voice came from inside the door.

Li Xin held the dinner plate and slowly pushed the door open with her arms.

A strong musky scent, mixed with the vague fragrance of roses, hit her face. Her nose twitched, and she suddenly felt her ears burning.

    Is the room too stuffy?

Li Xin shook his head subconsciously.

Janus had half sat up and was leaning on the bed, only exposing his upper body in pajamas.

There was still an ignorant look of fatigue on his face, and his sapphire-like eyes drooped listlessly, even the thickly curled eyelashes were covered.

Li Xin obediently put a dinner plate on him, folded a cloth and covered his legs.

Janus stretched out his hand, and she wiped it gently with the wet handkerchief.

    his hands are cold.

The skin is as smooth as fine white porcelain, and the palms of the hands are soft and tender without any calluses. She is simply more delicate than a pampered young lady.

Li Xin rarely felt that she was rough.

Janus blinked his blue eyes, looked at Li Xin with only the crown of his hair exposed, and said hoarsely:

    “What’s your name?”

When he woke up for the first time, the already pleasant voice was mixed with a hint of laziness, like a thin feather caressing Li Xin’s ears.

    Itchy and numb.

She couldn’t help but scratch her ears, put down the veil, and handed over the cup for mouthwash:

“You can call me Li, my sister often calls me Cindy.”

She tried hard to force herself to look away from his rose-colored lips.

    “Li?”

Janus wiped the water droplets from his lips gracefully and smiled lightly,

    “A very unique name.”

He put the water glass back into Li Xin’s tray, and then closed his hand as if inadvertently, his fingertips lightly slid across the back of her hand.

Alert pimples immediately appeared on Li Xin’s arms.

There is a very special fragrance in Janus’s room, and it is also on him. Even the veil he used in the morning is lingering with traces of fragrance.

This damn man is a walking seductive perfume bottle.

She had to recite the Great Compassion Mantra silently to calm down the raging flames in her heart that were trying to put down he.

Gen: I accidentally fell asleep, but luckily I caught up in time・ω・`)
