    Chapter Index

    Li Xin slept until noon.

Because she had been asleep for too long, she was still dazed for a while with her eyes open when she first woke up.

She hasn’t had such a comfortable sleep for a long time.

Miraculously, she came here to apply for a job, but Mrs. Mandy did not bother her and even allowed her to sleep until midnight.

If something went wrong and there must be a demon, she might be moved to tears.

Li Xin jumped out of bed, ran to the window with her bare feet, and held up the heavy curtains.

A ray of dazzling sunlight fell on her face.

She subconsciously covered it with her hands. After her eyes gradually adapted, she squinted and looked out the window at the scenery.

The lush green woods and the blazing sun hanging high in the sky.

The castle stands quietly in the center of the forest, like a sleeping lion. Even if it is covered with the wind and frost of time, people cannot ignore its existence.

Li Xin slowly exhaled a breath.

    Work hard.

She patted her face to cheer up, walked to the bed and changed into the clothes Mrs. Mandy had prepared for her.

The complicated way of wearing it and the inner petticoat made her feel uncomfortable. Under this premise, she compared her waist and decided to give up the corset that she hated.

She has a uniquely oriental body that takes advantage of her. She has a slender waist that can be grasped with one hand.

After Li Xin finished dressing, she picked up the wooden hairpin that had been with her and tied up her long hair.

She made this for herself when she was a child. It is durable and convenient.

The castle has become lively, and many maids and servants have emerged from nowhere. Under the command of Mrs. Mandy, they are doing their jobs in an orderly manner.

“Look, look at that spider web, you guys really love to be lazy!”

When Li Xin came out, Mrs. Mandy was holding her waist and reprimanding a tall male servant. Her voice was loud, which made Li Xin, who had slept in, feel a little guilty.

Fortunately, Mrs. Mandy didn’t mean to blame her.

The moment she turned around after scolding the valet, she saw a brand new Li Xin. Mrs. Mandy’s eyes couldn’t help but light up because of her very different appearance.

She walked over with her skirt in hand, as enthusiastic and generous as yesterday:

    “What a beautiful girl,”

Mandy smiled and asked Li Xin to turn around. She didn’t seem to be surprised by her black hair and eyes.

“I have never seen such a beauty as you!”

Li Xin hadn’t heard any praise for a long time. Thinking of the character she had arranged, she lowered her face in shame:

“I’m not as good as you say.”

Mrs. Mandy looked at her angrily:

“I never lie. You are such a lovely girl. I believe the master will like you very much.”

    …Master?

Li Xin sensitively captured these two words.

According to outside rumors, the original owner of Rose Manor was probably a sick little prince. Due to his health, he could only stay in the manor to recuperate.

But let alone the rumored prince who was dead, even if he were alive, this prince… would probably have become an old goblin who was hundreds of years old.

So she asked curiously like an innocent little girl:

“What distinguished gentleman or lady is here, nay, our host?”

Hearing this, Mandy patted her palm gently:

“He is a respectable gentleman. He came to the manor not long ago to recuperate. Your job is to take care of the master’s daily life.”

It’s better if she’s not an old goblin.

Li Xin breathed a sigh of relief silently.

“Exactly, it’s almost time now, I’ll take you to meet him.”

Mrs. Mandy pulled Li Xin over.
