    Chapter Index

After hanging up the phone, He Lu put her small crossbody bag on her back, took a pen and a notepad, put them in and left the room.

She went to Mama He’s room to check in before going out. She was walking in a hurry. She was out of breath when she reached the entrance of the small supermarket and quickly took out her mobile phone to call Cheng Yaokun.

“I-I’m at the entrance of the supermarket.”

Cheng Yaokun felt distressed and happy when he heard her breathing like that.

“You didn’t run there, did you?”

“No, I just walked a little fast.” He Lu took a deep breath and replied.

“Ha…” Cheng Yaokun smiled, picked up the shirt lying on the edge of the bed and walked towards the door, “I’ll come over now, I’ll be there in five minutes at most.”

    “Okay.”

After hanging up the phone, Cheng Yaokun walked to the door, put the phone in his trouser pocket, put on his shirt, opened the door and left the room.

He lowered his head to button his buttons and hurriedly walked to the front yard. When he reached the front yard, he subconsciously glanced towards the main hall. When he saw no one, he hurried out of the courtyard.

Just when he stepped out of the hospital, his mother’s head poked out from under the counter…

Hum!Are you still burning incense with your classmates? It was obvious that they were just two secretly dating each other!

In front of the small supermarket, He Lu was looking towards the trailhead, and soon she saw Cheng Yaokun’s car driving out.

The corners of her lips rose uncontrollably. After the car stopped next to her, she naturally pulled away the passenger seat and got in.

Cheng Yaokun turned his head to look at her, his lips slightly curved, “Where are you going to take me?”

After He Lu put on her seat belt, she smiled at he Tiantian and said, “I’ll show you the way.”

“Huh… Should we continue forward or backward now?”

“Ahead, isn’t there a fork in the road ahead? There is a small bridge at the fork in the road. After crossing the bridge, drive forward for a while and you will see it.”

Cheng Yaokun raised his eyebrows slightly and started the car, “It’s very mysterious.”

“Hey.” He Lu laughed, lowered her head, put her little hand on the sling bag resting on her knees and touched it.

Cheng Yaokun drove for three minutes until he saw the fork in the road He Lu mentioned.

However, the fork-in-the-road path is not as unpaved as the one at her home, but is a smooth asphalt road. Not far ahead is the small bridge she mentioned.

Cheng Yaokun didn’t see anything on this side of the bridge. The only difference was that there were no fields on the other side, but trees. The trees were some years old, with lush branches and leaves, and were growing well.

However, as soon as the bridge was crossed and the road turned a corner, a temple with red walls and golden tiles suddenly appeared at the end of the asphalt road.

The temple is not big, and there are two stalls selling incense and candles in front of the gate.

“Heh…” Cheng Yaokun smiled and turned to look at He Lu, “Is this where you want to take me?”

He Lu blushed slightly, “There is a wishing bridge inside, it’s very effective.”

    “Oh.”

    “…”

He Lu was speechless. At the same time, she thought she didn’t like him very much, and felt a little disappointed in her heart.

However, as soon as she lowered her head slightly, Cheng Yaokun turned on the steering wheel and parked the car under the shade of a tree on the side of the road.

He Lu was confused, “What for?”

“Of course I have to walk, so that I can appear more sincere and make my wish more spiritually.”

He Lu’s disappointment was instantly wiped away, and she unbuckled her seat belt and got out of the car with a smile.

The two of them were walking side by side under the shade of a tree. He Lu asked him, “Do you believe in Buddhism?”

Cheng Yaokun pursed his lips slightly, “I can’t say whether I believe it or not, but I still have a sense of awe.”

“I believe it.” He Lu said.

“Oh, most of you believe this.”

He Lu understood what he meant and lowered her eyes, without explaining that her piety was not just due to customs and environment.
